The “About the Festival” Section on Berea, KY’s the Moonshiner’s Ball could not be more fitting.

“3 days of moonshine-soaked Indie Rock, Americana & Bluegrass hosted by The Blind Corn Liquor Pickers at Homegrown Hideaways in Berea, Kentucky, a pristine outdoor venue where the sounds from the main stage ring out across Appalachian hills, where your kids can romp and stomp and pluck crawdads out of creeks and where we all gather to celebrate the art, music and poetry of the area while dancing, singing and drinking under clear starry skies.”

I attended the Moonshiner’s Ball in 2015 while working with the Rolling Oven. The Food truck and all other vendors were situated creekside with the West 6th Main Stage within listening distance and camping just steps away. A smaller stage, the Yes Ma’am Stage, was even closer with water trickling behind it.  Tin Can Coffee Roasters out of Lexington was located next to this stage for those craving java juice.
