WUKY’s free concert series Phoenix Fridays returns this summer, bringing free, quality rock & roll to downtown Lexington. The series will be held at Phoenix Park, located at the corner of Main and Limestone, the third Friday of each month running from May to August 2016, with bands beginning at 5:30pm.
Phoenix Fridays specifically pairs two local acts with one national touring band. This year’s headliners feature Moreland & Arbuckle, David Wax Museum, 7Horse and Vandaveer. Local talent includes Wax Fang, Ben Lacy & Friends, and several more. Here’s the full lineup:
Phoenix Friday’s is spearheaded by Lexington’s NPR-affiliate station 91.3 WUKY. Each year, a small team of dedicated music fans encourage all ages and families alike to bring a lawn chair and wind down from the week with some fun, live music at sundown downtown. Food trucks and beer/wine vendors will also be on hand to serve up local eats and a cold one. More information can be found at WUKY.org.
