Morning Teleportation @ Cosmic Charlie’s 9.21.17

Morning Teleportation had a triumphant return to Cosmic Charlie’s to a crowd eager to see the Bowling Green-native Psych Rockers back in their home state. With the release of 2017’s Salivating for Symbiosis, the band had an entire new record of songs to debut in Lexington. The tracks from Salivating added a new dose of groove to a show that is usually just as punk as it is psychedelic rock. Towards the end of the set, the band got reeeeal loose, easily evolving from Grateful Dead-esque psychedelia jams into harder riffs reminiscent of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.” The final songs of the set showcased Morning Teleportation’s wild, screaming synthesizers and experimental song transitions, tearing apart “Just a Figment” with a wild, screeching theremin and a long, winding version of “Snow Frog vs. Motor Cobra”.
