Spaceface

In 2011 Jake Ingalls enlisted his friends and musical partners from his hometown of Memphis, TN. to form Spaceface. The band was to be a fun, loud, local psych/garage rock band. However, after collaborating on their King Crimson album remake, Ingalls became the touring guitarist of Pysch Rock Royalty, The Flaming Lips.

Taking a page from The Lips, a Spaceface show is an explosion of light and sound. Their live show is a total DIY project, start to finish. From prism foil-wrapped stages to audio-reactive led stage lights, their setup is an audio-visual sensory overload. Their sound is cosmic, with shimmering harmonies, twinkling synths and guitar grooves with plenty of psych rock exploration from the full band. Throughout their songs, Ingalls vocals drip with woozy choruses and dreamy hooks while the light show takes the viewer on a journey.

Spaceface will headline Expansion on Saturday, Sept. 15 and is currently their only show on the books, don’t miss this opportunity to see one of the most impressive and up-and-coming psych rock bands making waves today!

Brothers Griiin

You may recognize the Brothers Griiin as the green-wigged drumming duo behind The Flaming Lips. While on tour with The Lips a few years ago, the Bros started hosting official Lips after parties in whatever city they happed to be in, professionally seeing out fun and making it their mission to to keep the party going. At Expansion, the Brothers Griiin will close down the main stage at The Burl on Saturday, Sept. 15 with a wild, energizing DJ set, utilizing Spaceface’s lights and lasers to destroy the dance floor until they kick us out.
