This hain’t your daddy’s Rock and Roll. If you’re a local, and unless you’ve been under a (blues) rock the past couple of years, you’ve caught Johnny Conqueroo at a Lexington venue, festival or street fair. They’ve been all over the place and have quickly made a name for themselves as one of the most talented regional music acts today. This week, the garage-blues rock trio are releasing their new EP “Haint Blue” which will be heralded by an EP release show at The Burl on Saturday, June 16.

Bluesy, blistering, angsty garage rock from Lexington’s Johnny Conqueroo at Moonshiner’s Ball 2017

Let’s pretend you haven’t been to a Johnny Conqueroo show. Fronted by Grant Curless (Vocals, Guitar, Keys), the band plays blistering psych blues rock a la a young Jack White, as Wils Quinn (Drums) and Shawn Reynolds (Bass) keep the beat without taking a backseat to Curless. The young, hungry band commands crowds of all ages and sizes with their unique brand of rock that’s a little bit honky-tonk, a little psych, and ALL rock and roll.

You can check out Johnny Conqueroo’s stellar new release via their Soundcloud or stream it below. And check out Dead Audio’s coverage of the band’s performance at Moonshiner’s Ball 2017.
